An ultimate day out with a bunch of mates! Choose between four wheel driving, mountain biking or a helicopter ride through the Glenhope Station, a working high country farm with amazing scenery. Then tackle the Grade 3 rapids of the Upper Waiau-uha gorges.
Rafting begins after morning tea beside the river. Inland Adventures will provide you with all the gear. A comprehensive safety briefing will ensure you know what to do out on the water, even if this is your first time rafting.
As it is a bit tricky to access, this section of Waiau-uha is one of rafting’s best kept secrets! It has stunning rugged gorges with steep rocky walls, tall waterfalls, wide open valleys and pockets of green bush. With a picnic lunch and plenty of chances to swim it is a pretty unbeatable day. We usually arrive back in Hanmer Springs by 4.00pm.
